RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
SAN MARCOS COUNTY WATER DISTRICT URGING THE
BUENO COLORADO MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT AS A
MEMBER AGENCY OF THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY WATER
AUTHORITY TO REQUEST THE AUTHORITY TO TAKE
IMMEDIATE STEPS TO INSURE THE DELIVERY OF
ADDITIONAL WATER TO SAN DIEGO COUNTY NOT
LATER THAN JUNE, 1957.
WHEREAS, studies and hydrographs prepared by the staff of the
San Diego County Water Authority established beyond question that San Diego
County is faced with an acute water shortage during the year 1957, and
subsequent years,unless arrangements are made to bring additional quantities
of foreign water into the County, or the County enters a period of abundant
rainfall and above average runoffs, and
WHEREAS, this Board of Directors believes that it is not prudent
to rely on nature, and that steps should be taken to insure the delivery of
additional quantities of water to San Diego County not later than June of
1957, and
WHEREAS, preliminary studies indicate that the line which will
deliver between 40 and 45 cubic feet per second can be constructed at a cost
of approximately $5,000,000 capable of bringing additional water into the
County by June of 1957,
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Directors of the San Marcos County
Water District recommends and urges the Bueno Colorado Municipal Water District,
its directors and representatives to approve the construction of said line, and
to urge the Authority to immediately commence the financing and construction
of said line, either at the expense of the Metropolitan Water District, or the
expense of the Authority.

ADDITIONAL WATER TO SAN DIEGO COUNTY NOT LATER THAN JUNE, 1957."
This Resolution was adopted by the Board of Directors of the San
Marcos County Water Distirct at their regular meeting held September
4, 1956, at 7:30 P.M. This meeting was held on Tuesday, due to the
fact that the first Monday of September fell on a holiday, the first
Monday of each month being the regualr meeting date.
