RESOLUTION FAVORING PROPOSITION "W"
WHEREAS The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California
proses to complete construction of its Colorado River Aqueduct System
as quickly as possible during the coming several years at an estimated
cost of over $80,000,000; and
WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Water District now has over $170,000,000.
in back taxes receivable and due over a 30-year period. To supply funds
for completion of the construction at the desired accelerated rate Pro-
position "W" allows The Metropolitan Water District to borrow up to one-
half of the back taxes. Approval will insure construction of projects
necessary to San Diego County and the San Marcos area's best interests.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board of Directors of
the SAN MARCOS COUNTY WATER DISTRICT
strongly recommnds a "YES" vote on PROPOSITION "W" on June 5th, 1956.
