RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
VALLECITOS WATER DISTRICT EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
FOR THE SERVICES OF MIKE HOGAN, GENERAL MANAGER,
ENCINA WASTEWATER AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Vallecitos Water District wishes to recognize MIKE HOGAN after 25 years of
service to the Encina Wastewater Authority; and
WHEREAS, MIKE HOGAN began his career in the wastewater industry in 1969, as a Sewer
Construction and Maintenance Worker for the County of San Diego; working his way to Encina Wastewater
Authority in his initial position as Operations Superintendent in 1983, and his appointment as General
Manager in 1998; and
WHEREAS, MIKE HOGAN served through the years as an active member of the California Water
Environment Association for over 35 years, which includes the San Diego Section Board of Directors
including President in 1984, and at the State level Board of Directors including President in 1997; and
WHEREAS, MIKE HOGAN was elected and served as a Board Member of the Water Environment
Federation and in 2002 was selected to serve on the Water Environment Federation's Executive Committee;
and
WHEREAS, MIKE HOGAN was elected to the Santa Fe Irrigation District Board of Directors in 2003,
and in 2006, was appointed by the Santa Fe Irrigation District Board of Directors to represent the agency on
the San Diego County Water Authority Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, MIKE HOGAN has received numerous awards throughout his career for his volunteer
and professional service to the wastewater industry including: two national awards from the Water Education
Foundation; the Hatfield Award for Outstanding Contribution to Wastewater Operations; and, the Bedell
Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Wastewater Profession.
WHEREAS, the Vallecitos Water District Board of Directors desires to publicly recognize the
services of MIKE HOGAN;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Vallecitos Water District as
follows:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the Vallecitos Water District does hereby express its
appreciation for the very valuable and professional work performed by MIKE HOGAN.
SECTION 2. The Vallecitos Water District Board of Directors, and employees of the District,
collectively and individually, wishes MIKE HOGAN the best fortune in his future.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Vallecitos Water District at a
Regular meeting held on the 18th day of March, 2009 by the following roll call vote:
