RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE VALLECITOS WATER DISTRICT REQUESTING THAT
THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY APPOINT
THE INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS FILED A DECLARATION OF CANDIDACY
TO FILL THE TERM OF DIRECTOR ENDING IN 2002
WHEREAS, an election of a Director to fill the office of Division 2 for the term ending
in the year 2002 of the VALLECITOS WATER DISTRICT was to be held on November 7,
2000; and
WHEREAS, on the eighty-third (83rd) day prior to the election, only one (1) person
(TRISH HANNAN) had filed a Declaration of Candidacy for the office; and
WHEREAS, Section 10515 of the Elections Code of the State of California provides
that under the attendant circumstances the Board of Supervisors of San Diego County shall
appoint as Director that person who has filed a Declaration of Candidacy to fill the office
of Division 2 without an election.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Directors of the VALLECITOS WATER DISTRICT
does hereby resolve and order as follows:
Section 1: The Board of Directors finds that the General Election of the Director for
Division 2 for the term ending in the year 2002 is hereby canceled.
Section 2: The Board of Directors finds that TRISH HANNAN is the only person who
has filed a Declaration of Candidacy for the office of Director for Division 2, and the
Board of Directors hereby requests that the Board of Supervisors for the County of
San Diego, California, pursuant to the provisions of Elections Code Section 10515,
appoint TRISH HANNAN as Director of Division 2 of the VALLECITOS WATER
DISTRICT for the term ending in the year 2002.
Section 3: The Secretary of the VALLECITOS WATER DISTRICT is directed to
deliver forthwith a certified copy of this resolution to the Registrar of Voters for the
County of San Diego, California, and a certified copy to the Clerk of the Board of
Supervisors for the County of San Diego, California.
Section 4: This resolution shall be made a part of the minutes of this meeting.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Vallecitos Water District
at a regular meeting held on this 6th day of September, 2000, by the following roll call vote:
