RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE VALLECITOS WATER DISTRICT
ADOPTING THE FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
ALCOHOL AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, effective January 1, 1996, the U. S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal
Highway Administration requires mandatory adoption of an Alcohol and Controlled Substance Abuse
Program for all employers having fewer than fifty (50) drivers with commercial driver licenses; and
WHEREAS, the Vallecitos Water District ("District") has developed a comprehensive program in
compliance with DOT rules, regulations, and procedures; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the District desires to formally adopt the DOT program; and
WHEREAS, a copy of the DOT program is available for review in the offices of the District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Vallecitos Water
District as follows:
Section 1: That the above recitals are true and correct.
Section 2: That the Vallecitos Water District hereby formally adopts the DOT Alcohol and
Controlled Substance Abuse Program.
Section 3: That a copy of said program shall be available for review at the District offices.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Vallecitos Water
District this 1st day of May, 1996, by the following roll call vote:
