RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
SAN MARCOS COUNTY WATER DISTRICT FIXING AND
DETERMINING POLICY FOR TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION
WATER METERS AND FOR TEMPORARY AGRICULTURAL
WATER METERS .
WHEREAS, the San Marcos County Water District has from time
to time been requested to provide temporary construction water
meters to provide water on a temporary basis fori construction
projects, and I
WHEREAS, said District has been requested tb install meters
for the growing and planting of agricultural products on a temporary basis, and
WHEREAS, the District's existing rules and regµ lations do not
provide for the installation of said temporary meters.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows: !
Section 1. The Board of Directors of the S~n Marcos County

Water District does hereby establish a policy for the installation

of temporary·construction meters as follows. I
A. A temporary construction meter may b~ installed upon
I
receipt by the District of a duly executed rritten application
I
showing the location and proposed use of sa~d temporary con-
struction meter accompanied by:

(1) a rental fee in the amount of $50.00;

(2) a deposit in the amount of the estimated instal-
I
lation costs of said temporary meter. The estimated
,
installation cost shall be prepared by the District. Any
,
I
deposit in excess of the actual cost will be refunded to
I
,
applicant. Applicant shall pay to District any costs of
I
installation in excess of the deposit; i
(3) deposit in cash in the amount o~ the estimate

of one month's billing of water charges.! Should this
I
deposit be in excess of ,the charges accruing against that
, ,
account, said e?tcess will be refunded wh\;¡n said account
is terminated. Applicant shall pay any deficiency re-
sulting from use of water in excess of deposit.
B. Water rates charged for construction service shall
be $10.00 per month, plus all water metered through said
temporary construction meter at ,the highest domestic water
rate prevailing as established by the District in the area
of the District affected.
Section 2. A temporary agricultural meter may be installed
upon receipt by the District of a duly executed application in
writing accompanied by -
A. advance minimum rental fee as follows:
(1) $60.00 for 1:-1/2" meter size;

(2) $108.00 for 2" meter size;
- -
(3) $180.00 for 3" meter size.
The foregoing rentals will apply for a period of one year
or part thereof. An additional rental fee will be payable
at the end of each 12 month period of service.
B. a deposit in the amount of the estimated cost of
installation of said meter. Should the deposit exceed the"
actual cost of the installation of said meter, said excess
shall be refunded to applicant. District shall prepare the
estimate of said installation cost. Applicant shall pay to
District any costs of installation in excess of deposit.
C. Applicant for a temporary agricultural meter shall
pay a readiness to serve charge as follows:
(1) 1-1/2" meter - $3.50 per month;
(2) 2" meter $5.00 per month;
(3) 3" meter - $7.50 per month.
D. Applicants for a temporary agricultural meter shall
in addition to the charges above listed pay to the District the
charges for the water metered through said meter at the pre-
vailing rates as established from time to time by the Board
of Directors of the San Marcos County Water District.

Section 3.
No Temporary construction meter or temporary agri-
cultural meter shall be installed until and unless a written appli-
cation is made therefor upon the usual District form accompanied by
a cash deposit as herein set forth. The District at all times re-
serves the right to determine the location and size of said meters,
and further reserves the right to reduce the size of said meters at
any time.
Section 4.
All applications for a temporary meter shall be
submitted to the Board of Directors for approval prior to instal~
lation.
,Section 5.
Applicant shall comply with all rules and regula;'
tions as from time to time established by the Board of Directors. of
San Marcos County Water District.
