RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SAN
MARCOS COUNTY WATER DISTRICT OPPOSING ASSEMBLY
BILL 1571 NOW PENDING IN THE STATE LEGISLATURE
WHEREAS, the San Marcos County Water District is a public
agency and is presently serving water and providing sewage disposal
services for the residents and inhabitants of the San Marcos County
Water District, and
WHEREAS, the San Marcos County Water District, as a pub-
lic agency, is responsive to the needs of the people within the
San Marcos County Water District, and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 1571 proposes to enact into legis-
lation a public services commission with certain regulatory and
rate-making powers controlling all special districts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE SAN MARCOS COUNTY WATER DISTRICT:
That the Board of Directors of the San Marcos County
Water District go on record as being opposed to Assembly Bill
1571 and further go on record as being opposed to the formation
of a public services commission or similar body which would im-
pose regulatory or rate-making authority within a state agency.
That copies of this resolution be forwarded to the duly
elected representatives of San Diego County within the State
Legislature.
