RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE VALLECITOS WATER DISTRICT
COMMENDING LIONEL G. BURTON FOR HIS MERITORIOUS SERVICE
WHEREAS, the Vallecitos Water District regrets the loss of Lionel G.
_ Burton; and
WHEREAS, Lionel G. Burton has served the District as a member of the Board
of Directors since 1988; and has served as President of the Board of Directors; and has
served as a member of the District Engineering Committee; and has served as the
District~s representative to the Encina Wastewater Authority (formerly the Encina Water
Pollution Control Facility) Joint Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, Lionel G. Burton served as Mayor of the City of San Marcos from
1974 to 1986; and
WHEREAS, Lionel G. Burton served as a member of the San Marcos City Council
from 1970 to 1974; and
WHEREAS, Lionel G. Burton served as a member of the San Marcos School Board
from 1962 to 1972; and
WHEREAS, the honorable and distinguished services of Lionel G. Burton have
served to establish and uphold the finest traditions of citizenship through
participation in local government.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE VALLECITOS WATER DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS DOES
HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, RESOLVE, AND ORDER as follows:
Section 1: The Vallecitos Water District Board of Directors, on behalf of
themselves, the management and personnel of the District, and on behalf of the citizens
of the District do hereby express their appreciation and commend and honor Lionel G.
Burton for his four years of service to the Vallecitos Water District and to the
citizens and residents of the District.
Section 2: The contribution and diligent efforts, the selfless service of
Lionel G. Burton on behalf of this District and his devoted citizenship are hereby
memorialized as a permanent part of the records of the Vallecitos Water District.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at an adjourned meeting of the Vallecitos Water District
Board of Directors held on December 9, 1992, by the following roll call vote:
