RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
VALLECITOS WATER DISTRICT
DIVIDING THE DISTRICT INTO FIVE DIVISIONS AND
DESIGNATING WHICH DIVISIONS SHALL ELECT DIRECTORS
AT THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 7, 2000
WHEREAS, the Vallecitos Water District ("District") Board of Directors on
December 1, 1999, passed Resolution No. 1100 requesting that the Board of
Supervisors of San Diego County conduct an election on March 7, 2000, to
determine whether District directors should be elected by divisions; and
WHEREAS, on March 7, 2000, Proposition H, which proposed dividing the
District into five separate divisions, passed by an overwhelming margin; and
WHEREAS, on March 24, 2000, the Registrar of Voters of the County of San
Diego certified the results of the March 7, 2000, election; and
WHEREAS, California Water Code Section 30733(a) provides that, if the
election of directors by divisions is approved, the Board of Directors shall by
resolution divide the district into five divisions, as nearly equal in population as
practicable, and assign a number to each division; and
WHEREAS, California Water Code Section 30733(b) provides that, prior to
the next general election, the Board shall by resolution designate which divisions
shall elect directors at that election to succeed the directors whose terms then
expire.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE VALLECITOS
WATER DISTRICT HEREBY FINDS, DETERMINES, RESOLVES, AND ORDERS
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Vallecitos Water District is forthwith divided into five (5)
separate divisions in accordance with the attached Exhibit "A" Boundary Map, which
provides that Director Dale Mason shall represent Division One, Director Trish
Hannan shall represent Division Two, Director Paul Davy shall represent Division
Three, Director Margaret Ferguson shall represent Division Four and Director
Raymond Cruz shall represent Division Five.

Section 2. The offices of directors from Divisions One, Two, Four, and Five
are designated as the divisions which shall be on the ballot for the November 7,
2000, general election. The offices of directors from Divisions Two and Three shall
be on the ballot for the November 5, 2002, general election.
Section 3. Future division boundary adjustments shall be by resolution in
accordance with Chapter 8 (commencing with Section 22000) of Division 21 of the
California Elections Code.
Section 4. The Secretary/Assistant Secretary of the Vallecitos Water District
is hereby directed to deliver forthwith one (1) certified copy of this resolution to the
Registrar of Voters of the County of San Diego, and one (1) certified copy to the
Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Diego.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Vallecitos
Water District at a regular meeting held on the 3rd day of May, 2000 by the following roll
call vote:
