ORDINANCE NO. 49-9
AN ORDINANCE OF THE SAN MARCOS COUNTY WATER DISTRICT
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 49-8 ESTABLISHING RATES, RULES
AND REGULATIONS FOR WATER SERVICE BY THE SAN MARCOS
COUNTY WATER DISTRICT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SAN MARCOS COUNTY
WATER DISTRICT as follows:
Article 7, Section 41. Service Connections, is hereby amended to
read as follows:
ARTICLE 7. SERVICES AND METERS
41. Service Connections: The District will furnish and install
a service and meter of such size and at such location as the applicant
requests, provided such requests are reasonable. However, the District
reserves the right for final selection of size, type and location of any
service; the service will be installed from its water distribution main to the
curb line or property line of the premises which may abut on the street, or
thoroughfare, District right of way or easement. Charges for new services
shall be payable in advance of construction, as follows:

1-1/2 inch Time & Material
The above charges are for a disc type meter connected to a water
main not to exceed 12" in diameter. Any other type meter required or
requested, connection to a water main exceeding 12" in diameter, backflow
preventer, pressure reducer or any other special equipment will be payable in
advance at cost of installation plus fifteen percent (15%) .
For services larger than 1-1/2 inches, the applicant will be billed
for the cost of installation plus fifteen percent (15%).
For meters only, installed on existing service outlets, charges
shall be payable in advance as follows:

Only duly authorized employees, agents of the District, or
authorized private contractor will be permitted to install a service
connection from the District's main to the customer's premises.

In addition to the charges for metered service excluding private
fire service installation, charges are to be collected by the District for
off-site treatment, transmission and storage facilities which are not required
as a normal part of an individual, group of individuals, commercial
development or subdivision improvements or distribution system extension as
follows:

The above fee shall be collected prior to rendering service and shall
be paid one time only.
All other ordinances or amendments in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
This ordinance shall become effective on the 16th day of May, 1983.
