ORDINANCE NO. 49-7
AN ORDINANCE OF THE SAN MARCOS COUNTY WATER DISTRICT
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 49-6 ESTABLISHING RATES, RULES
AND REGULATIONS FOR WATER SERVICE BY THE SAN MARCOS
COUNTY WATER DISTRICT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SAN MARCOS COUNTY
WATER DISTRICT as follows:
Article 7, Section 41. Service Connections, and Article 14, Section
80, Rate Schedule, are hereby amended to read as follows:
ARTICLE 7. SERVICES AND METERS
41. Service Connections: The District will furnish and install a
service and meter of such size and at such location as the applicant requests,
provided such requests are reasonable. However, the District reserves the
right for final selection of size, type and location of any service; the
service will be installed from its water distribution main to the curb line or
property line of the premises which may abut on the street, or thoroughfare,
District right of way or easement. Charges for new services shall be payable
in advance of construction, as follows:

1-1/2 inch 700.00
Above charges are for a disc type meter connected to a water main
not to exceed 12" in diameter. Any other type meter required or requested,
connection to a water main exceeding 12" in diameter, backflow preventer,
pressure reducer or any other special equipment will be payable in advance at
cost of installation plus fifteen (15%) percent.
For services larger than 1-1/2 inches, the applicant will be billed
for the cost of installation plus fifteen (15%) percent.
For meters only, installed on existing service outlets, charges shall
be payable in advance as follows:

Only duly authorized employees or agents of the District will be per-
mitted to install a service connection from the District's main to the customers
premises.
In addition to the charges for metered service and/or private
fire service installation, charges are to be collected by the District for off-
site treatment, transmission and storage facilities which are not required as
a normal part of an individual, group of individuals, commercial development or
subdivision improvements or distribution system extension as follows:

Additional Service Charge - An additional service charge
of $1.00 per month for each mobile home space will be due
and payable in addition to the Ready -to -Serve charge.
MONTHLY QUANTITY CHARGES
In addition to the monthly Ready -to -Serve charge, as
defined in Section 80, all water delivered will be charged
for at the following established rates:

Zone I is defined as water delivered which does not require
pumping by the District.
Zone II is defined as water delivered which is required to
be pumped by the District.
MONTHLY FLAT RATE CHARGES
Private Fire Service - per inch diamater $1.50
Any metered water used through a private fire service,
other than for actual fire suppression, shall be twice
the regular rate for domestic water.

81. All other ordinances or amendments in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
This ordinance shall become effective on the First day of August, 1981.
