A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SAN MARCOS
COUNTY WATER DISTRICT SUPPORTING THE PERIPHERAL CANAL
PROGRAM OF THE METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the water needs of San Marcos County Water District
require importation of 100% of its water through the State Water Project
and the Metorpolitan Water District of Southern California; and
WHEREAS, the Peripheral Canal is required to provide an adequate
water supply for all contractors with the State Water Project, including
Metropolitan Water District, and to protect the Delta environment; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California
is recommending legislation to expedite State constructiLon of the Peri-
pheral Canal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of
San Marcos County Water District reaffirms its support of the Peripheral
Canal, and Metropolitan Water District's project to protect both the Delta
environment and State Water Project export water supply,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the San Marcos County
Water District is directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the San
Diego County Water Authority, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern
California, the Assembly Water Committee, the Senate Agriculture and Water
Resources Committee, Governor Brown, Lieutenant Governor Curb, the Secretary
of Resources, and the Director of the Department of Water Resources.
