RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
VALLECITOS WATER DISTRICT EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
FOR THE SERVICES OF SHELDON M. GATES
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Vallecitos Water District regrets the retirement of
SHELDON M. GATES; and
WHEREAS, SHELDON M. GATES has served the Vallecitos Water District for more than 16
years beginning in January 1988 as an Engineering Technician II and being advanced to the position
of Engineering Technician III in January 1991; and
WHEREAS, SHELDON M. GATES served the District for those 16 years with great skill and
devotion, demonstrating his ability to work with customers and other employees of the District; and
WHEREAS, SHELDON M. GATES has performed a variety of technical civil engineering
duties in support of District activities, including complex duties in plan review and design, and
engineering support duties working with the District's public; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors desires that public recognition of the services of
SHELDON M. GATES on behalf of the District be given;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Vallecitos Water
District as follows:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the Vallecitos Water District, on behalf of themselves,
the management and personnel of the District, and the citizens of the District, does hereby express
its appreciation for the very valuable and professional work performed by SHELDON M. GATES.
SECTION 2. The contribution, diligent efforts, selfless service of SHELDON M. GATES on
behalf of this District and his devoted loyalty are hereby commended as part of the permanent
records of the Vallecitos Water District.
SECTION 3. The Board of Directors, staff, and employees of the District, collectively and
individually, wish SHELDON M. GATES the best fortune in his future.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Vallecitos Water
District at a regular meeting held on the 19th day of May 2004 by the following roll call vote:
