RESOLUTION OFTHE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
SAN MARCOS COUNTY WATER DISTRICT IN SUPPORT
OF PROPOSITION "W"
WHEREAS, Proposition "W" will be presented to voters within
the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California on June 4,
1974; and
WHEREAS, Proposition"W", if approved, will authorize the
Metropolitan Water District to issue revenue bonds secured by the
sale of water to complete the vital works needed to deliver water
from the California State Water Project to the Metropolitan Water
District member agencies throughout Southern California; and
WHEREAS, revenue bond financing will help remove the burden
of repayment of capital costs for water supply systems from property
taxpayers to water users, will help keep down the cost of delivered
water, and will require future water users to pay their fair share
of the capital costs of the system; and
WHEREAS, San Diego County and San Marcos County Water
District will benefit from revenue bond financing of expansion of
the Robert A. Skinner Filtration Plant and other parts of the San
Diego Aqueducts and Inland Feeder systems;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED
by the Board of Directors of San Marcos County Water District as
follows:
Section 1: That the San Marcos County Water District
endorses the aims and objectives of Proposition "W" and urges its
passage at the June 4, 1974 election.
Section 2: The Secretary is hereby authorized and directed
to provide a copy of this Resolution to the Metropolitan Water District
of Southern California, the San Diego County Water Authority, the
Citizens for Proposition "W" as evidence of our support of the
approval of this proposition.
